The MCG is a family-friendly venue, offering a range of facilities for parents and their children.
At most events, a family seating area will exist, which prevents alcohol being taken into that area. Please note the size and location of this area will change at the direction of the event promoter.Parents' rooms
The MCG has four parents’ rooms located around the stadium on Level 1 (M).They can be found in the following locations:
- Ponsford Stand (behind M28)
- Shane Warne Stand (behind M11)
- Olympic Stand (behind M57)
- MCC Members' Reserve (behind M42, near Tower 6)
Each room contains private feeding cubicles with armchairs, change tables, nappy disposal units, a microwave, TV, power point, sink and toilet.
To minimise misuse, the Parents’ Room in the MCC Members' Reserve is kept locked on event day. If you need to use this room, please ask a nearby member of staff for assistance.

Babes in arms
Admittance to the MCG will be free of charge in public general admission areas for children under the age of six at both cricket and AFL matches. Free entry for children for other events will be decided in conjunction with the event promoter.Children under the age of two sitting in a reserved seat area must have a valid seat ticket if they are not seated on the lap of their parent or guardian.
During AFL finals and International cricket, children aged three and under are admitted free of charge but must sit on the lap of any their parent/guardian.
Children aged five and under are admitted free into the MCC Members Reserve at all events.
Prams and Strollers
Prams and strollers are permitted in the stadium. They can be placed in seating areas if they fit under the patron’s seat or at the back of seating bays as long as they do not present a safety hazard to others.Prams can also be placed in wheelchair accessible bays as long as the bays have not been pre-sold as reserved seats and space is still available for patrons with disability.
Wristbands for lost children
Wristbands are available at the Public Enquiry Counter at the Stadium Management Centre, (Level B1, Ponsford Stand) and the Customer Service Office behind seating Bay M57 in the Olympic Stand.Parents can write either their mobile number or seat location on the back of the wristband. If their child gets lost we can call or locate mum or dad quickly.
Reuniting children with their parents quickly will reduce stress levels of those who get separated while at the ground.
This is a free service and parents with small children are encouraged to get a wristband for their child.
