Bledisloe Cup

Wallabies return date to the ‘G locked in

Friday, February 10, 2023

The Wallabies will return to the MCG on Saturday July 29 to host the All Blacks at the iconic venue for the first time since 2007, following the confirmation of the side’s 2023 eToro Rugby Championship and Bledisloe Cup fixtures.

Having hosted just three Tests previously, the MCG is pleased to welcome back the national side, returning to the ground for the first time since the Wallabies defeated New Zealand in front of almost 80,000 fans in 2007.

The MCG is expected to draw a significant crowd for the July fixture, with an average attendance of 81,529 across the three previous Bledisloe Cup matches held at the venue.

Victorian Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events Steve Dimopoulos said fans are expected to turn up in large numbers.

“Victoria is the nation’s major events capital and the MCG will be packed with fans watching the Wallabies and the All Blacks battle it out for the Bledisloe Cup.

“We want to encourage rugby fans from across the country and New Zealand to visit Melbourne and watch the game live and experience everything our state has to offer.”

The Wallabies will then head to New Zealand in August in the hopes of claiming the Bledisloe Cup – a feat they last achieved in 2002.

Tickets for the 2023 Bledisloe Cup go on sale to the public from 10.00am AEST on Thursday May 11. For ticket information and pricing, click here.
