AFL releases Rounds 16-19 fixtures

The AFL has announced the dates and times for the Rounds 16-19 fixtures of the 2022 AFL Premiership Season with the Melbourne Cricket Ground, managed by the Melbourne Cricket Club, to host six matches over the four-round period.

Round 16 will see Essendon host the Sydney Swans in the first of two afternoon matches for the round on Saturday July 2, before Richmond host the West Coast Eagles on Sunday July 3 at 2.10pm.

The Round 17 fixture features just one match at the ‘G with Collingwood to square off against North Melbourne at 1.45pm.

On Friday July 15 the MCG will be transformed into a soccer pitch as Manchester United takes on Melbourne Victory, before returning to its traditional AFL layout for a Saturday night blockbuster between top-eight sides Carlton and Geelong for Round 18.

At 1.10pm on Sunday July 17 Hawthorn will do battle with the West Coast Eagles before the Ground is once again transformed into a rectangular field for the much-anticipated match between Manchester United and Crystal Palace F.C. on Tuesday July 19.

Round 19 will see the ‘G host the ANZAC Day rematch between Collingwood and Essendon at 3.20pm.

Tickets for matches in Rounds 16-19 will go on sale to public at 11am AEST on Wednesday June 8. Announcements regarding the fixture for the remaining games of the 2022 AFL Premiership Season will be made in due course.
