The MCG will host its first cricket matches for the summer in November, with the Victorian Men’s Team set for a domestic double-header against fierce rivals New South Wales, following Cricket Australia’s release of further fixtures on Wednesday afternoon.
The release of the fixtures ends an extended pre-season for Victoria following state border restrictions, public health conditions and their related impacts delaying their first round of matches.The ‘Big V’ will host the Blues in a Sheffield Shield clash at the MCG, commencing on Friday November 5.
The two teams will then face off in a day-night Marsh One-Day Cup match on Friday November 12.
As Ground Managers of the MCG, the Melbourne Cricket Club, alongside Cricket Australia, are currently exploring opportunities with the Victorian Government to have members and fans in attendance at the scheduled MCG matches.
An update to crowd attendance will be provided in due course.
