The MCG will host one match during Round 22 of the 2021 AFL Premiership Season, after the AFL released the penultimate round fixture on Wednesday night.
Top of the table Melbourne will host the Adelaide Crows on Sunday August 15, the match commencing at 2.10pm AEST.The AFL, together with Melbourne and the Adelaide Crows, have agreed to strict protocols as approved by the South Australian Government. The Adelaide Crows will fly-in and fly-out for the match on Sunday via charter flight.
It will be the first time the two clubs have met at the MCG since Round 15, 2016, and will be the second time for season 2021 – the last time they met seeing the Crows edge Melbourne in a one-point thriller back in Round 10 at the Adelaide Oval.
Two fixtures remain to be confirmed for Round 22, with the AFL to announce in due course.
As per Victorian Government public health guidelines, the match will be played without crowds.
