Update – Thursday August 5, 2021: The MCG will host an additional match during Round 21 of the AFL Premiership Season, with the AFL confirming the Hawthorn and Collingwood match has been rescheduled from Tasmania.

The Hawks and Magpies, initially fixtured to be play at UTAS Stadium in Launceston, will now do battle at the MCG – that match to be played in the same timeslot of 2.10pm on Sunday August 8.

This match is in addition to the Richmond and North Melbourne match to be played on Saturday August 7 at 4.35pm, announced earlier this week.

In a statement released on Thursday afternoon, the AFL said: “The health and safety of everyone in the game and the wider community remains the priority as we continue to navigate the pandemic and the AFL thanks all supporters for their understanding as we continue to be led by the advice of governments and public health officials.”

As per the Victorian Government's announcement last week, both matches will be played without crowds.
