Below you will find everything you need to know to help make your experience a great one.

Mobile tickets

Your ticket for the match will be delivered digitally via Ticketek. You will need to download your mobile ticket prior to arriving at the MCG. If you have purchased tickets for others, remember to forward tickets to the individuals attending within your group for easy entry. This can be done by forwarding the SMS you received from Ticketek, or by copying and pasting the ticket link into an SMS. These tickets will be used for entry at the turnstiles.

For a quicker entry, we recommend downloading your mobile tickets prior to arriving at the MCG.

Getting to the 'G

During the 2022 AFL Finals Series, the process for entry into the MCG will take longer than usual. To ensure you are inside the MCG in time for the match start, arrive early and leave plenty of time for the entry process.

To ease congestion on roads, the public transport network and at the Gate, we advise patrons to arrive early to the MCG.

Public transport

The MCG is easily accessible via public transport, including major train and tram lines. Plan your journey here.

Car parking

Public parking in Yarra Park is available for some matches at the MCG. Please check our Parking Information page for a full list of opening times and availability. We endeavour to provide disability parking for all matches.

Road closures

Road closures around the MCG may be in place at high-traffic times during events at the MCG. Cars may also be held in the car park for a short time after the match. Roads that may be subject to road closures include Brunton Avenue, Jolimont Street, Jolimont Terrace and Wellington Parade.

To see the road closures for upcoming events, view the event pages here.

Once inside the MCG

Arrive early and leave plenty of time for the entry process at your assigned gate. You will be required to enter via the Gate on your digital ticket.

All food, beverage and merchandise outlets will be cashless – so all transactions will need to be made on a debit or credit card.

COVIDSafe Measures

The MCG committed to the ongoing wellbeing of all visitors to the Ground.

The Victorian Government has recently relaxed some of the COVIDSafe measures for the state. However when visiting the MCG, please remember to wash or sanitise your hands regularly, using one of the 275 Dettol hand sanitisation stations throughout the Ground.

We also recommend packing a fitted face mask. While masks are not required by patrons at the MCG, we strongly recommend masks be worn where physical distancing cannot be maintained.

Accessible seating

Accessible seating is available in all stands at the MCG. Availability is event dependent.

Great Southern Stand
Accessible seating is only available on levels 1 and 2 of the Great Southern Stand. Public availability of accessible seating on level 2 is restricted during the AFL Premiership Season as this area often forms part of the home club’s season reserved seat or dining room allocations.

Ponsford Stand
Accessible seating is available on levels 1, 2 and 4 of the Ponsford Stand.

Olympic Stand
Accessible seating is available on levels 1, 2 and 4 of the Olympic Stand.

Sensory Friendly Space

A sensory friendly space, presented by the MCC Foundation, is now open at the MCG offering visitors some quiet and calm on event day no matter the size or volume of the crowd.

Located within the Australian Sports Museum* on Level 1 (inside Gate 3, behind bay M51) this is a space for patrons of all ages who have sensory sensitivities, processing differences, or other hidden disabilities (e.g. autism, acquired brain injury, mental illness, PTSD, dementia).
