AFL confirms fixture for Rounds 16-23 of the 2024 Premiership Season

Tuesday, May 14, 2024

The AFL has locked in the fixture for Rounds 16 to 23 of the 2024 AFL Premiership Season with times and dates now finalised for all but the final round.

The MCG has welcomed a record number of fans through the gates so far this season and the trend is set to continue as Saturday night blockbusters and headline matches feature heavily throughout the second half of the season.

Round 16 will see the Geelong Cats host Essendon in the Saturday evening time slot before Richmond go toe to toe with Carlton on Sunday at 3.20pm.

After their last meeting ended in a historic draw on ANZAC Day, Collingwood and Essendon will meet again on Friday July 5 for a Round 17 blockbuster, followed by Melbourne v West Coast Eagles on Sunday July 7 at 1.10pm.

The MCG will host three matches in Round 18 including Collingwood v Geelong on Friday, Melbourne v Essendon on Saturday and Richmond v GWS GIANTS on Sunday.

Following their nail-biting clash in front of 88,000 fans in Round 8, Collingwood will once again meet Carlton on the big stage in Round 21 at 7.30pm on Saturday August 3.

In Round 23 Collingwood will face the Brisbane Lions at the MCG for the first time since the 2023 Grand Final in the Saturday 4.35pm twilight fixture, before Hawthorn host Richmond on Sunday at 3.20pm.

While the MCG will host Melbourne v Collingwood and Richmond v Gold Coast SUNS in Round 24, dates and times for these match ups will be confirmed later in the season.

Ticket on sale dates for Rounds 16-23 will be announced in due course.
