BBL10 update: Crowds capped at 15,000 in Victoria

Tuesday, January 12, 2021

Victorian public health officials have advised that the upcoming KFC Big Bash League matches scheduled at the MCG and Marvel Stadium will be capped at 15,000 patrons.

Capacity has been limited in the interests of protecting public health and delivering a safe environment for all patrons.

In a further measure, and as a result of various state border closures and related impacts, seven BBL matches have been relocated, including a change to scheduled games at the MCG.

The previously fixtured game between Adelaide Strikers and Brisbane Heat at the MCG on Thursday January 21 will now be played at Adelaide Oval. Patrons who had purchased tickets to this match will receive a refund via Ticketek.

The MCG will instead host a match between Sydney Sixers and Hobart Hurricanes on Sunday January 24 at 7.15pm, with tickets to be made available online shortly.

Under our government-endorsed COVIDSafe plan, tickets for all matches at the MCG must be pre-purchased, with no ability to purchase tickets at the Ground.

The Melbourne Cricket Club, as ground managers of the MCG, is committed to ensuring the 2020/21 Summer of Cricket operates in line with relevant Victorian Government COVID-19 guidelines so all patrons can experience the MCG in a safe way.
