About Parking in Yarra Park

  • To protect the park, Yarra Park is regularly closed to the public. Yarra Park is heritage listed and a traditional meeting place for the Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung. As such, protecting the parklands is our priority.
  • All parking in Yarra Park is within grassed paddocks. People arriving by car will need to cross the grass, and in some cases garden beds or sand, to connect with the asphalt pathways.
  • Patrons with an Australian Disability Parking (ADP) permit will be able to pre-book parking via Ticketek. Please refer to information about access to the stadium from Yarra Park and the free G-Train Mobility Shuttle Service.
  • When open, parking costs $20 per vehicle and is payable by eftpos only. Vehicles unable to pay via card will not be allowed entry to Yarra Park.
  • Before you arrive, check match day parking conditions. For some events, parking may only be available to Australian Disability Parking (ADP) permit holders.
  • Car parking in Yarra Park is subject to capacity. Arrive early in order to secure a car park, as capacity may be reached prior to the start of the event.
  • Car park gates will close when Yarra Park is full, or 30 minutes after the event starts. Updates will be communicated via the MCG website (on each event’s parking detail page) and @MCG on X.
  • To improve safety in Yarra Park, pedestrians are given priority when exiting MCG events. This will cause significant delays to vehicles being able to exit the park, with sections of the Park being held until crowds have thinned.
  • Street parking is very limited. Please consider possible alternative car park options.

Other Parking Options

Please note that these alternative car parks are not operated, owned or endorsed by the MCG and may have their own restrictions in place due to circumstances beyond our control. We recommend checking availability in advance and using public transport wherever possible.

Street parking is very limited. Metered parking is available around Fitzroy Gardens, the Botanical Gardens and along the Yarra River.

Please consider alternative parking options and plan ahead before driving to the MCG.

There are limited street drop off/ pick up spaces for buses on the south corner of Landsdowne Street, East Melbourne. For further information on restrictions, please visit the City of Melbourne website.

Drop Off/Pick Up Locations

Patrons with accessibility needs can arrange to be dropped off by taxi (or a private vehicle with an Australian Disability Parking permit) at the bus turning circle (corner of Jolimont St and Jolimont Tce).

Please note: Vehicles without an Australian Disability Parking (ADP) permit, including pre-booked Ubers, will not be permitted to enter the bus turning circle.

All other patrons and vehicles without an Australian Disability Parking (ADP) permit are advised to use Clarendon St (near the Pullman Hotel) for their taxi, ride share or private vehicle drop off and pick up.
